Timing Beats Speed
Demanding intensity for things like check movement to receive during practice or games is fine. Timing however is often overlooked during those practice, and timing is a key aspect of creating space, intensity alone is not enough!. Scenario's in football games don't always require a 100 mile an hour intensity. Intelligent players position themselves & read the game to effect it best. Timing > Speed
If A Player Moves Too Soon
Move to soon = opposition players have more time to adjust and problem solve before a pass can be made.
Move with good timing = Often space can be created due to lack of reaction time in order for the opposition to adjust. By all means ask for intensity with movement to receive, but remember to emphasise the importance of timing. Below is a good example of timing and position to effect play from Lionel Messi.
