Greenock Morton Football Club is seeking applications for the role of Development Squad Coach within the club's youth development pathway.

The ability to organise, communicate, design and deliver high performance player development is integral to the clubs ongoing development.

Therefore, this role is fundamental to the long-term vision of the football club, ensuring that the department attains all criteria for Project Brave but more importantly builds on the academy’s current successes.

The role will also include interaction with our First team staff and older Youth Academy coaches and squad players.

The applicant must be prepared to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. This is a full time position of 35 hours per week.

The salary will be £22-25K dependant on experience

Essential skill requirements:

  • A current UEFA Pro, UEFA A or UEFA Youth License holder is essential
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Experience of working with young elite footballers, preferably in the 16-22 year old age range
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • A sound understanding of player development, CAS and Project Brave

Middlesbrough Football Club is looking to recruit a Part time Youth Development Phase Coach to work under the Lead Phase Coach, Head of Coaching and Academy Manager. You will be expected to plan, deliver and evaluate coaching sessions in line with the Club’s coaching framework and playing philosophy. Match day coaching will also be a fundamental part of this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individual support to selected players, producing Individual learning plans and maintaining records via our PMA (Performance Management System) ensuring the requirements of our EPPP Category 1 status are met. CANDIDATES SHOULD: 

• Hold a UEFA B Licence (Level 3).

Chelsea Football Club are looking for someone to work as an international coach, delivering grass roots and development coaching programmes for Chelsea FC Foundation in a multitude of global locations. 

Contract: Casual coaching agreement. 

Chelsea FC Foundation are searching for highly motivated and outgoing individuals to join the international development team as a Foundation International Coach. Qualifications and relevant coaching experience may affect suitability, rates of pay and selection for specific programmes that will run periodically throughout the year. 

Working Hours: will vary subject to the needs of the business. Most programmes will require a bespoke schedule, lasting from between 1 and 12 weeks, peak periods are between April and September annually. All work will be confirmed no later than 1 month prior to the event. 

Annual leave: Will be paid pro rata based on the amount of work delivered in an annual cycle. 

Main Responsibilities: 

Overseas / International Responsibilities: will include coaching groups of children, both male and female of different abilities intermediate to advanced 5 to 18years, in select cases coaches maybe asked to lead teams into competition events. 

Each programme will require coaches to work of a set curriculum that may require bespoke session planning and player evaluation and feedback. All staff will be expected to develop the content to the needs of the group. All related paperwork will be completed in a set format and in-line with set standards. 

Additional responsibilities could involve delivering power point presentation to players, parents and coaches as part of the programme delivery. 

Developing positive but professional relationships with parents, players, coaches and teachers and associates is imperative to all programme and projects. All staff will be guided to manage communication appropriately during and after any coaching event. 

All logistics flights, transport, and accommodation will be support by the international department in the UK. Due to majority of programmes being for extended periods and outside Europe coaches will be required to attend and support visa application meetings and attend a set preparatory meeting at Chelsea FC’s Training ground surrey. 

All members of staff will be trained to a set standard implementing appropriate policies and procedures that uphold best practice and to safeguard the participant and staff involved in the programme. (Recording accurate paperwork is a key responsibilities). 

As a representative of Chelsea FC Foundation internationally, there will be added responsibility around staff conduct on and off the fields, all staff will be monitored and supported by relevant programme manager and the staff operations manager. 

All staff will be required to update key qualification and attend set CPD events annually. 

Measures of Performance: 
All coaching staff will be monitored and evaluated against the delivery standards during the programme delivery. Head Coaches will complete a full evaluation along with feedback from participant and associate organisations. All information will be reviewed and shared as formal feedback on every trip / programme delivered. 

Personnel Specification:

FA Level 3 (Essential), UEFA A (Desirable)

Valid Emergency Aid and Safeguarding certification (Essential)

Experience of working with international players and coaches (both English and non English speaking) from different cultural backgrounds is advantageous. 
Experience of delivering coach education or mentoring would be advantageous. 
Experience of coaching and living and working overseas would be desirable. 

Business Experience: (Minimum 3 years’ experience) 
Experience of managing and developing working relationship to a positive outcome. 
Experience of managing and leading an event or a group of staff is desirable. 
Experience of managing and developing professional relationships with parents, players and staff is an essential skill required for this role. 

Business Skills: 
Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential. This should include an ability to speak publically and present to large groups of players and parents. 
Good organisation skills, with an ability to maximize personal/team performance. 
Exceptional interpersonal skills to manage and influence towards a positive outcome.
